45ers Travel to Old Home to Face New Foes

Gaylord, MI- The Alpena 45ers are taking their preseason preparations on the road Saturday night, traveling to Gaylord, MI for a match up against the Northern Michigan Warhounds on September 26th.

The preseason contest marks another important step towards the start of the 20226-27 campaign, as the 45ers continue to build chemistry, evaluate their roster, and prepare for the intensity of regular season play.

For Alpena, the trip to Gaylord carries a little extra significance. It is a return to familiar territory, but under very different circumstances. This time, the 45ers enter as the visiting team, with a new opponent standing across the ice.

A New Opponent, Another Test

Saturday's matchup against the Warhounds will provide the 45ers with an opportunity to test themselves against quality competition before the games begin to count.

Preseason games are about more than the final score. They give players the opportunity to establish chemistry, compete for roster spots, learn systems, and develop habits that will define the team throughout the season.
